Dan Nachbar was a software engineer for most of his career working at several companies including Bell Labs and Google. He was also involved in a few software startup companies.

Dan has been passionate about flying since he learned that people could fly and holds pilot ratings for gliders, airplanes, and balloons. When not working on the Motor Balloon, he has been doing most of his flying in his Cessna 182Q Skylane.

In 2007, he and a colleague built a hot air airship named the Personal Blimp. (See www.personalblimp.com)
